On the other hand, when you hire a freelancer, you simply pay a reasonable hourly or project rate. My rates include an initial telephone consultation (or in-person consultation for local businesses) to outline the scope of the project, a written project bid and contract, and ongoing telephone consulting and support. You also get the peace of mind that comes from knowing you have a competent professional handling the project. You can’t put a price on that.

- Monthly email newsletter (minimum 6-month contract): $500/month

- Informational brochure, small: $500
- Informational brochure, large (tri-fold): $1,000
- Initial SEO website copy: $800 per page, maximum 800 words per page
- Editing of existing website copy to add/enhance SEO: $500 per page, maximum 800 words per page
- Advertorial/business profile: $1,000, maximum 1,000 words (no more than 2 interviews)
- Ebooks/special reports: 50¢ per word for documents over 3,000 words; $1 per word for documents under 3,000 words
