Current Projects

    • As a copywriter for EuroLux Antiques, I write snappy and occasionally irreverent item descriptions for their directly imported European antique furniture and decorative items. Who says antiques have to be stuffy? It’s just furniture, after all.

    • As a brand ambassador for Seek or Shout, I bring together bloggers and brands, flacks and hacks, and everyone in between. A new community from industry leader Cision, Seek or Shout offers a free platform for anyone who needs a source for a story or wants products to review. Public relations firms love Seek or Shout because they can freely distribute press releases to targeted journalists, bloggers, and thought leaders. Writers love Seek or Shout because they can connect with experts and brands. Can you say win-win?

    • For Mariposa Plastic Surgery Center, I worked with organization leadership to re-brand the clinic. I led the mission to create their first-ever standalone website and helped develop an integrated public relations strategy that includes the website, a Facebook page, a Twitter presence (currently being re-launched under the new brand), and a blog (which I edit and/or ghostwrite on behalf of the staff). During this process, I became well-acquainted with the unique challenges healthcare organizations face in creating new media approaches to public relations and marketing. The clinic’s new online presence builds relationships with existing clients and cultivates new ones. Facebook page ‘Likes’ have increased 20% in the month since the re-branding — and that’s without any collateral support, such as news releases.

    • In the healthcare realm, I’m especially passionate about curing Alzheimer’s disease. I work with my local Alzheimer’s Association chapter to create content that informs and motivates volunteers and local healthcare leaders to become tireless advocates in this cause. I create content for an e-newsletter and other types of electronic media as requested.

  • My current self-publishing venture is The Cheerful Caregiver, a blog that encourages caregivers to put themselves at the top of the caregiving pyramid without feeling guilty about it. I’m passionate about self-care for caregivers in order to help them avoid burnout. I tap my personal experience caring for my dad during his final year and my skills as a Registered Nurse to help caregivers find ways to nurture themselves so that they can continue to nurture their loved ones.
